Release & Renew Ritual – New Moon in Cancer

Next Wednesday, 29th June, is a New Moon in Cancer, 7°22’ exact at 12:52 AEST.  Here’s an astro-weather update. You’re also invited to join me for a simple ritual to release the last cycle’s debris and infuse grace into your intentions for the next.

The deep feeling of the Cancer New Moon is being plunged by the three faces of the Lilith: being directly conjunct BlackMoon-Lilith and the Lilith asteroid with all squaring the DarkMoon and Jupiter. What’s more the new moon is directly opposite Priapus, the masculine god of the phallus, fornication, penetration and the protection of fertility and the harvest.

Suffice to say there’s a chance some really gnarly ancient wounds may be surfaced and conversely some ancient shutdown or split-off potencies, full of juice and agency, may be reclaimed. If it’s excruciating shadow work or an exalting stepping forward in your feel-good groove, or a mix of both, it remains to be seen. Whatever it is, it’ll be meaningful, deeply felt, and personal.

Also in the mix Warrior Mars and Truth-or-Die Eris are conjunct in fiery Aries, squaring the Witch Queen Medea in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn. These angles build in the week before the new moon and tighten to a peak in the week following. Power issues could be UP in your relationships… power over, power under, manipulations, jealousies, vengeful machinations and dark magic or at least ill wishes are a real risk in ourselves, our loved ones and via stray arrows amongst our tribe. These could show up in outright hostilities or be internalised, imploded into simmering shutdowns, feeling defeated, devalued, unseen without a place to feel true to yourself and be related to as that.

The potent Lilith and Mars energies fuelled by Jupiter suggest there’s a clear and present urge, a motivated need, to step up, stand out, and claim your unique place in your relationships; to back how you feel, and what feels good in how you do things, and to succeed in that. These could feed the warnings above or instead (or combined?) it could bring in a new lover, friend or favours from masculine authority figures… whatever comes it should resonate as deeply aligned and congruent with how you feel yourself to be, perhaps more authentically than ever before.
